How to configure Controlled Access on your Android Tablet
Interaction Control

Interaction Control helps you to restrict your tablet’s reaction to inputs while using apps. You can activate this mode when you want to allow others only limited access and control of your media or data.
Features:
- Interaction control helps you to customize the way you interact with applications and settings on your device.
- You can block or unblock areas of the screen from touch interaction.
- It disables auto rotate screen, the top status bar, navigation soft keys and home button functions
Part 1. Enable interaction control
Step 1
Swipe the top of the screen to open the status bar and select the cog icon to access the system settings on your android tablet.
Steps 2 & 3
2. Select accessibility (left pane)
3. Select dexterity and interaction (right pane)

Select interaction control.
Step 5
Slide the switch to the ON position
Step 6
An alert window may appear requesting that conflicting apps / settings be disabled before the pin windows feature can be enabled. Take note of those listed and tap OK to accept.

Return to home screen
Part 2. Enable interaction control

Press home button and volume down button at the same time.
Step 9
A screen preview will appear showing an adjustable frame that can be dragged over the area of the screen you’d like to block from touch interaction. Drag and stretch the default frame to the desired location or create additional frames by simply drawing around the areas you’d like to block out. Tap done.
Step 10
Launch desired app. The restricted area/s will be highlighted in blue and buttons will no longer be responsive.
Step 11
Press home button and volume down button at the same time to deactivate interaction control feature.
Pin Windows

Description:
Screen pinning is a system feature available in the latest versions of Android allows you to pin (lock) the tablet screen to a certain app. Customers can interact with any of the on-screen functions within the pinned app itself, cannot navigate away from it.
Features:
- Helps to locks down your device so customers only have access to one dedicated app.
- By default screen pinning disables the top status bar, navigation soft keys and home button functions.
Part 1. Enable Pin Windows
Step 1
Swipe the top of the screen to open the status bar and select the cog icon to access the system settings on your android tablet.

2. Select Lock Screen and Security (left pane)
3. Select Other Security Settings (right pane)
Step 4
Scroll to Advanced and select Pin Windows

5. Slide the switch to the ON position.

Part 2. Pin an App

Launch the app you’d like to pin

Press the home button return to the home screen

Tap on the recent apps key (the square ‘soft’ button located next to your physical home button).
Step 12
Drag the title bar for the app you want to pin until the thumbnail window snaps to the centre of the screen. You will see a blue pin button appear in the bottom-right corner of the app thumbnail window. Tap on it.
Step 13
An Enable Pin windows alert will pop up – tap Start if you are ready to activate lockdown.
Step 14
Screen Pinned will appear for 5 secs to confirm pin activation
Step 2. Unpin an App

Press and hold the recent apps and back keys at the same time (soft keys either side of the home button)
Step 16
Swipe and enter security pattern (if selected in step 6) to unlock screen and return to home screen. All settings and buttons will now be accessible
Button Saviour (non root)

Pros: Free We recommend K3 ICS or Rajiv’s WinRT themes for cleanest look.
Cons: Less elegant options to customise look and feel in free version.
Simple Control
Type: Android OS System Setting
Pros: Simple clean icons and very flexible setup options in free version.
Cons: Throws up full screen advertisement every time “settings” option is selected.
